new muffin tins!

i am in love!

i bought this really cute new muffin tin from IKEA the other day, and i have to say it is the greatest thing ever. i like it so much that i bought another one that is a similar style but different shape as well! 

first of all, they are NON STICK. i don’t use paper muffin cups, and for my regular sized muffin tin i have silicone reusable ones, but really i think this is even better. i was a little nervous the first time that the muffins would stick, but they just slid right out, easy as pie (easy as muffins??).

not using muffin cups also has the added benefit of making the whole outside of the muffins crispy. you know how everyone likes muffin tops better, because they are nicely browned and a bit crispy? well with these tins, the entire outside of the muffin gets that delightful crispy feel to it. it’s like the WHOLE muffin is the top!

ALSO, i really love the cute shape of the tall, skinny cups. i thought at first that they would be a fair bit smaller than a normal muffin tin, but when i made a recipe that normally makes 12 muffins, i got 14 so not much difference there. i also like the idea of teeny little one-bite muffins, and a regular 12 muffin recipe makes 24 of the little suckers.
