these are a nice christmas treat. i am making a whole selection of
christmas treats for my dad/friends, and these were today’s project.

they were really quick and easy to make, but what seems more decadent
than home made chocolates? i am basically a domestic goddess.

this recipe makes 18 chocolates!
ingredients:
2/3 c dark chocolate melters
1 t oil
8 mini candy canes
2/3 c dark chocolate melters
1 t oil
8 mini candy canes
to make:
unwrap candy canes, and crush. i used my magic bullet, but a food
processor, or a thick ziploc and a rolling pin would work equally well.
it came out to about 1/4 c of crushed candy cane.

next, separate the candy cane chunks into two bowls, each about 1/8 c.

throw the chocolate and oil in a pot and melt. if you have a double
boiler, that’s a good way to go. i don’t, so i just used a small pot
over low heat, and stirred constantly until it was melted. just be
careful it doesn’t burn!

once your chocolate is all melted, pour in one of the little bowls of candy cane bits, and stir it up.

spoon the chocolate into wrappers (i got them from the bulk barn, you could also use mini muffin papers)

and sprinkle the remaining candy cane bits on top.

stick in the fridge to cool.

*you could also make this recipe as chocolate bark. instead of
spooning into candy wrappers, spread the chocolate about 1/4” thick on
tinfoil, sprinkle the remaining candy cane on top, and then break apart
into chunks once it’s hard!*
