kale chips

mmmm kale chips.

you can buy them for a zillion dollars at a fancy health food store, or you can make them yourself, they are so CHEAP and EASY!

kale chips are healthy, tasty, allergy-friendly, pretty much perfect as a snack food, is what i'm trying to say!!

make some!

ingredients:

1 bunch of kale
2 T olive oil
1/2 t salt
herbs and spices of your choosing (i used 1 T  granulated garlic and 1/3 c chopped fresh dill)

to make:

take that there kale

wash it well, and tear it up into it's leaves, it tears up easily, and the leafy sections are the perfect size. discard of the center stalks.

chop up any fresh herbs (and i always recommend fresh herbs over dried or even frozen, but use what you have!!)

pour oil onto kale a bit at a time, mixing with your hands to coat the leaves. also add any fresh herbs a bit at a time and mix well. spread on a cookie sheet.

sprinkle salt (and any dried herbs) evenly over the surface. bake at 275 for about 25 minutes. keep in mind it will cook quickly, and cooking time can depend a lot on your oven. stir them every 5-7 minutes to ensure even cooking.

you'll know they're done when they're nice and crispy and a bit brown around the edges. soooo tasty!!
