i almost always start my day with coffee and either a bowl of granola with fruit, or a smoothie.
depending on the time of year, i'll use either mostly frozen fruit, or mostly fresh. i also use a scoop of protein powder, just because it makes my smoothie a little more filling, and adds a great touch of vanilla flavour!
i use almond milk, although rice, soy, hemp or whatever kind of milk you fancy would work well too!
this recipe makes one large smoothie!
ingredients:
1 c frozen strawberries
1 c frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
2/3 banana
1/2 mango, 1/2 peach, a few cherries, whatever
1 scoop protien powder
1 c vanilla unsweetened almond milk
to make:
add almond milk and protein powder!
blend!
enjoy!
I love using avocado instead of banana in a smoothie. You may find that You'll need to add something to compensate for sweetness (honey or OJ), but the texture is amazing and the avocados are so good for You. Try it out!

here goes. i am secretly afraid of avocado smoothies. WEIRD, RIGHT?!?!? i LOVE avocado, but can't stomach it on it's own. i can eat the SHIT out of it with some garlic salt, or whatever, but i find plain avocado has this weird buttery taste to it. i really am not a big fan of butter, but especially on it's own, (and i get the same feeling with cream cheese). i know that this would be avocado NOT on it's own, but for some reason it make me really nervous. avocado-related OCD? can you taste the avocado at all when you make it in a smoothie?
Deletealso, i love you. sooooo much.
