of all of the treats i made around christmas time, the chocolates
were the most popular. i kept them in the freezer and just brought them
out when people were over...
i don't generally make dessert, since it's not really something i
eat, but i know most people like it, and thought it would be nice to
have something around to offer people.
so, i made a batch of chocolates, and i can just pull a few out of the freezer after dinner to share. bam, dessert, DONE.
ingredients:
1/3 c dark chocolate melters
1 t oil
1/3 rice krispies (i used gluten free)
1/2 c white chocolate melters
1 t oil
8 mini candy canes
1/3 c dark chocolate melters
1 t oil
1/3 rice krispies (i used gluten free)
1/2 c white chocolate melters
1 t oil
8 mini candy canes
to make:
put dark chocolates and 1 t oil in a pot or double boiler. melt, stirring constantly.
take off the heat, and stir in rice krispies.
spoon about 2 t into each of 24 candy-cups. press into the bottom a
little, but don't smush the rice krispies. pop in the fridge to harden
up for about 30 minutes.
clean the pot or double boiler, and make sure it's totally dry!
crush candy canes (i use my magic bullet, but a blender, food processor, or rolling pin would work too)
put white chocolate melters and 1 t oil in the pot and melt.
spoon about 1 t white chocolate over the dark chocolate.
then sprinkle candy cane pieces on top.
cool in the fridge.
voila!
